The ITC promotes networking, peer learning, and capacity development bringing together a large number of stakeholders working in the field of tax and development (e.g., policymakers, tax administrators, representatives from academia, civil society organisations, etc). The ITC Secretariat, which is part of the GIZ Sector Programme Good Financial Governance (SP GFG), manages the day-to-day activities of the ITC. Currently, the ITC hosts the secretariats of two international initiatives in the area of DRM – the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) and the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO).

As an intern (m/f/d), you will support the ITC, ATI, and NTO secretariats implement the activities agreed upon in its workplan. These include:
Implementing and further developing the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI), most notably by facilitating the cooperation and exchange within the ATI Steering Committee and ATI Consultative Groups; Implementing and further developing the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO), in line with its strategy and structure, most notably by facilitating the cooperation and exchange within the NTO member organisations; Supporting the organisation, implementation, and follow-up of the ATI General Assembly, which is scheduled to take place in July 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in a hybrid format; and of other virtual/hybrid international events (e.g. NTO Council meetings, ATI/NTO side events in international conferences and workshops, webinars, presentations, etc.); Assisting in the conceptual preparation of studies and peer-learning activities as well as conducting research and drafting briefs, factsheets, internet articles, etc; Managing and collecting data for external communication and monitoring purposes, notably in the context of the ATI; Evaluating current debates and worldwide developments in the field of good financial governance and public finance with a special focus on tax policy and tax administration issues; Supporting the external communication of the initiatives by drafting website articles and other communication materials for the ITC, ATI, and NTO; Supporting knowledge management, network management, and the exchange of information within the team and towards external stakeholders; Supporting the ITC Secretariat and the SP GFG in its day-to-day administrative work.GIZ is a signatory of the Diversity Charter.
