Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Draft and edit media/communication, stakeholders’ engagement contents and public information materials for projects, in coordination with project staff and external stakeholders. These include Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, such as brochures, posters, booklets, presentation slides, info sheets, newsletters, reports, maps and infographics, and video clips among others.
- Contribute towards the Mission’s official website and all social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) including the drafting, editing and uploading of content for IOM projects.
- Support implementation of project activities related to communications, including organizing communications campaigns and relevant online and offline events, creating key messaging materials, among others.
- Assist in knowledge sharing, updating and adapting, as necessary, the existing media and communications tools, and quantitative and qualitative data on progress and emerging outcomes, in coordination with the project team.
- Assist in developing internal and donor reports by providing detailed information on project achievements, progress against set targets and visibility reports.
- Monitor the timely submission of project data from project teams and partners, ensuring that all beneficiary information is gathered in line with data protection principles.
- Assist in cleaning, processing and analysing project data to inform decision-making and implementation.
- Assist in drafting and implementing information monitoring tools and data collection tools/templates for efficient reporting.
- Assist in maintaining IOM Malaysia’s communications equipment and inventory of visibility materials.
- Support in the management of the internal project database, ensuring that all relevant data on the implementation of the project are captured and organized.
- Liaise with project teams to verify the completeness, accuracy and integrity of published content and relevant data in line with the policies and guidelines by donors, the Mission, IOM Regional Offices and HQ and inform the supervisor of any non-compliance.
- Undertake duty travels as necessary, to support documentation of field activities and collection of information and audiovisual materials, in coordination with the project teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION
- University degree in Development Communications, Journalism, Social Science, Information Management, Information Technology, Statistics or a related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum three years of relevant professional experience, or
- High school diploma with at least five years of relevant working experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous work experience in data analysis and report writing required.
- Previous work experience in the field of media and communications, public relations, social media communications is an advantage.
- Previous working experience with NGOs or international organizations is an added advantage.
SKILLS
- High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office is mandatory, knowledge of web page design, graphic software such as Adobe photoshop and illustrator, multimedia design and processing and publishing software, proficiency in social media is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work with basic data management, analysis, and presentation software, e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, a must.
- Good verbal, written, interpersonal skills and creativity.
- Strong presentation and communications, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to work under pressure.
