The internship focuses on support to the openIMIS Initiative (www.openIMIS.org). openIMIS is an interoperable, versatile open source software which supports the administration of health financing and social protection schemes. It is designed to manage the complex, high-volume data flows which are required to operate such schemes by seamlessly integrating beneficiary, provider and payer data.
More than 13 million people in 12 countries benefit from health insurance, employment injury insurance, cash transfer and voucher schemes managed using openIMIS. The openIMIS Initiative supports users, implementers and developers and co-ordinates community of practice. It aims at promoting the use of the software as well as the continuous development and further integration with other digital systems in health and social protection.
The internship is anchored in the co-ordination desk of the openIMIS Initiative run by GIZ with a special focus on the software development process. The intern will get insights into core processes of a global open source software project. Beyond that, the integration into the team structure and the corporate communication systems of GIZ offers a genuine view into the work of international development co-operation.
Support the co-ordination desk in the management of the various communication channels of the openIMIS Initiative Support the openIMIS developers committee in core software development processes with a specific eye on quality assurance Support the openIMIS Initiative in harvesting structured technical documentation from the various sources such as the openIMIS Wiki Support in preparation, implementation and follow-up of (virtual) events including minutes taking, support of capacity development measures Contributing to the overall project management, monitoring, quality assurance and evaluationPlease be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship.
We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross).
