About the Internship

WorldFish is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to support our Global Finance Team. The selected intern will assist across various finance functions, including Budgeting & Reporting, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR), and Risk & Compliance.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and a comprehensive understanding of finance operations through a structured rotation across different finance units. Successful candidates will develop valuable skills and insights into real-world financial processes in an international organization.

The successful candidate will:

Supporting Budgeting Team in collaborating with BDP in building costing for project proposals. Support Budgeting Team in annual budget and forecast process, preparation of reports and other ad hoc analysis. Support Budgeting Team in Timesheet and personnel cost allocation related. Support AP Accountant in invoice registration, payment and manage AP Mailbox to resolve issues. Perform bank reconciliation. Follow up with procurement to clear any issues in the P2P process. Support GL team on monthly journal posting and balance sheet reconciliation. Support in asset tagging and asset sighting process. Develop and maintain an online filing on SharePoint assessable to key stakeholders. Any ad-hoc assignments required to support Global Finance Team.

Requirements

This opportunity will be suitable for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:

In the midst of pursuing a degree or other relevant professional (ACCA/CIMA etc.) qualification. Teamwork \u2013 Demonstrate experience working collaboratively across teams in a cross-functional, matrixed work environment. Good communication skills, particularly written English. Ability to manage relationships and work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent analytical skills with excellent attention to details.

Desirable Skills

Have actual working experience with knowledge of ERP system.

This position is an excellent opportunity to gain information and experience with an international research organization. The intern will also get the chance to interact and collaborate with researchers. A monthly stipend and health insurance will be provided.

Location and Duration

The successful intern will be based at WorldFish Headquarters in Penang, Malaysia. The selected candidate should be available to begin the internship as soon as possible, for a duration of up to five and a half (5\u00bd) months. This opportunity is open to Malaysian nationals only. Interviews are anticipated to take place in July 2025, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to attend the interview.
