Purpose of the role
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational finance processes at area level, and for coordinating budget preparation/reviews related to grants, funds, and budgets for all related programmes, donors, and departments by ensuring adherence to NRC’s policies and donor requirements.
What you will do
Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements Prepare and submit reports and analysis Ensure proper filing of all support documents Manage Finance staff at area level and follow up day to day operations of the finance team Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures Provide Capacity building on financial procedures and contribute to the improvement of the finance function in the area Support project staff in financial matters Maintain budget control and monitor cash flow for the area. Ensure development and implementation of administrative systems and procedures.Specifically, you will;
Review and ensure accuracy of all the financial data entered in to Agresso and timely closure of the accounts every month. Review payment documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with donor requirements. Represent finance in procurement process meetings. Support Area Program team in following up with the budget holders on BVAs, spending plans and monthly cash forecast. Support in dealing with money transfer agent and Banks, the relevant reconciliations, etc. Act as focal point between the Country Finance Manager and Area Office finance team Support preparing Master Budget and Donor Budgets for the Area Office Ensure data archiving as per NRC standards and policies. Support in audit related requirements as and when required. Ensure timely submission of financial reports and supporting documentation from Implementing Partner Organisations.Professional competencies
Experience from working as a Finance Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Finance with an INGO or humanitarian agency Knowledge of the context in Iraq. University degree in accounting, finance or equivalent is preferred Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systems. Experience with EU and US donors
