The incumbent will report to the Chief Education in the field office (G20), and) and will receive technical guidance from the Senior Education Program Specialist (P4) at Headquarters in Amman, leading the digital education section ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation of digital blended learning strategies and initiatives in UNRWA Schools, in close coordination with the Education team at HQA: Supports the implementation with education stakeholders in the field, on digital education instruments including but not limited to digital pedagogy competency framework for teachers, digital education leadership framework for school principals, education technical instructions, policies and strategies, to ensure that they are grounded in the field of operation context. Ensures that digital learning models implemented at school level are in alignment with global best practices in digital pedagogy. Collaborates with the relevant education staff, and education team in HQA, in the design and implementation of effective blended and online learning experiences at school level. Collaborates with subject matter experts to update digital resources that align with curriculum standards and best practices, and to evaluate digital learning resources and materials. Supports the development and the implementation of digital assessment tools and methods to monitor the digital pedagogy practices in alignment with the curriculum standards, and measure student academic progress and performance. Explore potential partnership with third party content providers to improve the scope and availability of relevant digital teaching and learning resources for the schools in the field. Capacity building: Leads the development and the implementation of capacity building in digital pedagogy and digital leadership respectively for teachers and school principals and deputies and collects feedback to inform the review of the digital education frameworks and capacity building packages for teachers and school principals and deputies. Establishes a monitoring mechanism to regularly assess the implementation and impact of digital integration, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continuous alignment with educational objectives and UNRWA's standards. Provides ongoing support and professional development to enhance teachers' digital pedagogy practices, to ensure effective integration of digital tools and resources in teaching and learning processes, based on the results of the monitoring mechanisms. Knowledge management and exchange: Identifies best practices in the digitalization of education to ensure that the integration of digital tools, platforms, and resources effectively enhances teaching and learning processes document lessons learned from in-school implementation of blended learning initiatives Facilitates knowledge sharing and collaboration across schools, and document good practices at field and school level. Continuously reviews and promotes innovative and evidence-based digital pedagogical approaches that align with UNRWA's educational objectives and standards. Stays abreast of emerging trends and technologies in digital education to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of innovation. Monitoring and evaluation Supports the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives. Ensure accurate data is collected from stakeholders to inform the effectiveness of digital education initiatives in the schools. Contributes by providing inputs to reporting against the operational plan of the ICT4E strategy, and reports to project donors and partners as required, and on the state of digital education in UNRWA in general. Performs such other relevant duties necessary to the sound implementation of the overall ICT4E strategy and the education program in general, as may be assigned. Proven experience in design and implementation of capacity building for teachers in service,preferably in digital education or similar areas, is required. Experience with emerging technologies in the context of education (e.g. AI in education, gamification, etc.), is required. Excellent knowledge of MS-Office, and Microsoft for education ecosystem, is required LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
