Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the ES/NFI Cluster Coordinator, the Senior Project Associate (IM-ES/NFI Cluster) will support the ES/NFI Cluster in the timely and efficient provision of required information management services. Timely and accurate information is integral to the successful coordination of humanitarian action. For information to support analysis for operational and strategic decision-making, shared standards and common approaches are required to facilitate the delivery and monitoring of assistance within and across Clusters and to undertake gap analysis in determining priorities.

  • System Design & Data Management
    Following instructions, develop adaptable tools and templates that enable effective data collection on shelter and NFI needs and response activities, including  disaggregation by gender and vulnerability.
  • Capacity Building & Partner Support
    Train implementing partners and stakeholders in the use of reporting tools. Provide ongoing technical support to enhance data quality and reporting consistency.
  • Information Products & Visualization
     Following instructions, translate raw data into digestible formats such as dashboards, factsheets, maps, and visual reports that reflect real-time needs and response coverage.
  • Data Coordination & Inter-Cluster Engagement
    Work in close collaboration with the Inter-Cluster Information Management Working Group and other clusters to support joint data analysis and cross-sectoral planning.
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    Compile monthly activity reports from partners, support RPM submissions, and contribute to high-level reporting processes such as the HNO and HRP.
  • Localization & Sub-National Support
    Coordinate with regional focal points to provide IM support and facilitate the transition of information systems to local actors where possible.
  • Community Feedback Integration
    Incorporate qualitative data and community feedback into reporting processes.
  • Administrative and Communication Support
    Maintain up-to-date mailing lists and contact databases. Manage information flow within the cluster and with external stakeholders.
  • Transition & Handover
    Provide detailed handover notes and  follow knowledge transfer mechanisms are in place during staff transitions.
  • Other Duties
    Carry out additional functions as requested by the Cluster Coordinator in alignment with the objectives of the cluster.

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor degree in information technology, Demography, Statistics, and Social Sciences with four years of relevant professional experience. 

      EXPERIENCE

      • Previous experience in the Shelter Cluster would be an asset. 

        SKILLS

        • Knowledge of Cluster mechanisms, UN coordination systems and Humanitarian Reform process. 
        • Knowledge and experience of shelter-related programs with understanding on natural disaster and conflict-related emergencies and contexts. 
        • Knowledge of different data collection methodologies. Proven skills in analyzing statistical information. Ability to formulate IM-related technical requirements and Operating Procedures. Ability to translate planning specifications into technical briefs for data capture and analysis and vice versa.  Languages
          • Fluency in English and Amharic IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
