Work LocationGeneva Expected duration1.10.2025-31.3.2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the project manager of the United Nations Development Account project (UNDA-15) “Circular forest product value chains and nature-based solutions in Central Asia and the Caucasus” and the staff of the UNECE Forest and Bioeconomy Section, the intern will contribute to the following activities under the project: • Organization of a workshop for national focal points and experts from target countries on Non-Wood Forest Products back-to-back the 83rd session of the Committee on Forests and the Forest industry in November 2025. • Assistance with the preparations of strategic roadmap documents for Non-wood Forest Product Value Chains. • Assistance with the development of the pilot projects concepts for mainstreaming circular forest value chains into development planning and policy. • Assistance to organizing national and regional workshops in 2025/Q4 and 2026/Q1 including national workshops in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. • Contribute to networking activities and to the mobilization of partners and resources. General: Performs other related duties as required compatible with tasks outlined above. Work implies frequent interaction with the following: Staff within work unit/section and peers in department/regional commission; staff of other international organizations working on related issues; academics and representatives of civil society, both NGOs and the business community. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D.
