You will join the Accelerator Systems Department (SY), which is responsible for the beam-related technical systems of the CERN accelerators. The SY teams design, build and operate equipment systems in all CERN accelerators, and are engaged in ambitious forward-looking R&D programmes.
You will be part of the Electrical Power Converter Group as our Spare parts Manager. In this role, you will oversee the inventory of electronic components and parts, ensuring the availability of essential items to support the operation of more than five thousand power converters across all CERN accelerators. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of quality assurance processes within the Group.
Functions
You will:
Manage and optimize inventory: oversee the Group's spare electronics and electromechanical parts inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels taking part and supervising inventory activities, provide detailed reports and perform trend analysis to avoid shortages or overstock;Coordinate electronic supply and procurement: gather and document Group’s needs, work with CERN production services to plan and optimize electronic boards manufacturing and ensure timely delivery of components;Contribute to Group’s Quality Assurance: engage with cross-functional teams to support the group’s continuous improvement initiatives, offering insights and strategies for enhancing processes related to operation and maintenance of power converters.After dedicated training, you will also join our stand-by team, participating in interventions on operational Power Converters.
Higher technical diploma or equivalent relevant experience in the field of electrical, electronics or maintenance or a related field.
Experience:
