Are you excited to contribute and grow in the field of power converters? Join CERN’s Electrical Power Converters group (EPC) leave your mark on the development/operation of the electrical systems for CERN's particle accelerators. Take part!

You will join the Accelerator Systems Department (SY), which is responsible for the beam-related technical systems of the CERN accelerators. The SY teams design, build and operate equipment systems in all CERN accelerators, and are engaged in ambitious forward-looking R&D programs.

The Electrical Power Converters group of the Accelerator Systems Department is responsible for the electrical power converters systems of the entire CERN complex.

You will join the Operation and Maintenance Support section (OMS) responsible for the coordination and support to the Operation and Maintenance of EPC group equipment.

Functions

As a technician specialized in electromechanics, you will be part of the team responsible for the production, installation and maintenance of CERN's power converters.

You will:

Design electronic subassemblies, integrate and wire them in power converters. Construct or supervise the manufacture, assembly and installation of power converters;Participate in the commissioning and testing of power converters;Planed and supervise preventive maintenance;Participate in troubleshooting and necessary corrective repairs;Ensure the implementation of all necessary safety measures on the sites under your supervision;Prepare all documents required for the preparation and follow-up of tasks related to your assignments.

Qualifications

Higher technical diploma or equivalent relevant experience in the field of electromechanics or a related field.

Experience:

Required experience in the following:

Use of CAD tools (2D, 3D) for the creation of simple electromechanical assemblies;Installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems;Experience in the design of power converters or power electronics.

Desired experience:

Use of CAD tools for the creation of electrical schematics.;Performing electrical tests.

Technical competencies:

Design of electromechanical systems;Assembly of electronic crates, racks and cabinets;Construction, test and installation of power electronic components and systems;Operation and maintenance of power electronic components and systems.

Employment Conditions

Contract type: Limited duration contract (5 years). Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.
