    These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ) or Country Offices (COs). They report to the Division/Country Director or the designate, and are subject to overall normative and technical direction by the Chief Engineer, WFP Engineering in relation to all matters of engineering services and construction activities.
    Job holders operate under the direct supervision of a more senior and experienced Engineer holding recognised accreditation as “Chartered Engineer” or “Professional Engineer”. They are involved in day–to-day practical engineering activities and analytical work. Subject to the overall guidance, job holders complete assignments and provide advice on engineering issues, applying the established norms, standards regulations and providing expertise in making determinations and recommendations across a range of daily activities.
    JOB PURPOSE:
    To provide electrical and engineering expertise and contribute to the efficient delivery and quality outputs.

    The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

    General Electrical Duties

    • Designing electrical systems for buildings, facilities, or industrial projects.
    • Preparing technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
    • Supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
    • Conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety codes.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues.
    • Coordinating with other engineering team and contractors.
    • Design, implement and supervise maintenance plans and systems for the various electrical plants and equipment.
    • Apply best practices, standards and innovative technologies, incorporating country-specific technical requirements that comply with WFP standards and processes.
    • Design, implement and supervise the installation of data networks for facilities.
    • Design, implement and supervise the installation of UPS.
    • Travel to various project sites.
    • Solar Energy Systems
    • Designing and sizing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems based on energy needs.
    • Conducting site assessments for solar installations.
    • Preparing feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for solar projects.
    • Supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems.
    • Monitoring performance and ensuring optimal operation of solar systems.
    • Advising on battery storage, inverters, and hybrid systems integration.
    • Ensuring compliance with renewable energy standards and regulations.
    • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
