  1. Role and responsibilities

    The following is a brief description of the role. 

    Generic responsibilities 

    These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.

  2. Monitor and report on the project activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards
  3. Work with the community education committees in the planning and enrollment of the activities
  4. Distribute and monitor the use of school materials according to procedures
  5. Administrate volunteer teachers’ and school children’s payments and entitlements
  6. Assist the volunteer teachers in their work
  7. Suggest new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities 
  8. Report all protection related concerns 
  9. Carry out data collection as required
  10. Prepare field reports
  11. Prepare and file relevant documents as required by line manager

    Specific responsibilities 

    These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. 

  12. Support monitoring & evaluation activities and all report writing activities
  13. Record and maintain project specific field documents according to donor and NRC specifications
  14. Mobilize communities and beneficiaries to participate in education activities
  15. Maintains a strong work-relation with communities and implementing partners
  16. Contribute to the development of project and thematic materials for use in Education program activities
  17. Support Education Coordinator, Education Officer and other Education program staffs to conduct assessments and surveys
  18. Support all budgeting, accounting and administration tasks of education activities 
  19. Support the Education Officer and Education Project Coordinator in providing translation as necessary
  20. Abide by all standard NRC security protocols when circulating in the field and encourage team members to do the same.
  21. Provide trainings such as gender, climate changes, life skills, business skills and psychosocial support courses as assigned by the line manager.
  22. Support the community-based workers for the field implementation in line with the tasks assigned by the line manager.
  23. All other tasks not mentioned above that might be requested to improve and support the program
  24. Scan and archive all documents related to financial, procurement and program needs
  25. Competencies

  26. At least 2 years of experience from working with education projects in a humanitarian/recovery context
  27. BA degree or equivalent preferred. Relevant experience necessary.
  28. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  29. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  30. Fair English and Computer skills

    Context related skills; knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position): 

  31. Strong administrative, accounting and reporting skills.
  32. Good Computer skills
  33. Good English skills
  34. Training and facilitation skills in particular 
  35. Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
  36. Ability and willingness to work and live under difficult circumstances
