The purpose of the Education Project Manager position is to drive the implementation of Education programming in the Nuba Mountains, ensuring implementation on-time, on-budget, in line with the proposal, and with excellent quality. What you will do:

Generic responsibilities:

  1. Line management for project staff.
  2. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
  3. Contribute to the development of Country, Area and Education strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant Education projects.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    Program Design and Planning:

    • In consultation with partners, staff, area office management, Education Specialist, maintain a watching brief on access to and quality of education in the area of operations; 

      Partnership Management:

      • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination throughout program implementation.

        Program Implementation:

        • Oversee the implementation of education programming, including interventions in primary, non-formal, and youth programming, ensuring adherence to program design, standards, and protocols.
        • Lead field colleagues and partners in the planning and execution of education interventions ensuring that implementing teams are aligning with associated programmatic standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safeguarding standards.

          Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:

          • Support and collaborate with NRC’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Team in conducting baseline, learning, and impact assessments, and relevant analytical activities 

            Team leadership

            • Line management of staff in line with NRC procedures, ensuring NRC is a great employer to work for

              Coordination and Representation

              • Responsible for attending relevant Education specific meetings and coordination for a, representing NRC strictly within the limit set out by the Area Office.

                What you will bring

                Generic professional competencies: 

                • Bachelors or masters in education, management, or relevant field; minimum three years of experience managing education programming for an NGO in a humanitarian context
                • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, in remote areas
                • Technical education expertise 
                • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
                • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner.
                • Excellent cross cultural communication skills
                • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile 
                • Fluency in English, both written and verbal 

                  Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

                  • Experience responding in IDP contexts, in formal and non-formal education
                  • Fluency in Arabic What we offer

                    • Duration of Contract: 1 year- Fixed Term
