The Organizational Setting
The Regional Office is primarily responsible for maintaining continuous liaison with States to which it is accredited and with appropriate organizations, regional civil aviation bodies and sub-regional bodies and UN Agencies and programmes. The Regional Office ensures interregional coordination and promotes the timely and harmonized implementation of ICAO policies, decisions, Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). The Regional Office also provides technical guidance and assists States in the establishment of effective safety oversight systems and with implementation of Standards and Recommended Practices.
Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer, the Driver Messenger provides support to the administrative section and the whole Office in general. The Administrative Officer and his/her back up assign tasks and duties to and evaluate the performance of the incumbent. Under the guidance and supervision of the Administrative Officer, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work. The Driver demonstrates a client- oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
The Driver provides driving services to the operations and programme staff in the Regional Office and for visitors.
Major duties and Responsibilities Function1 (incl. Expected results)
Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services, achieving results such as:
Drive Office vehicle for the office errands and for other Regional Office staff to attend to official engagements. Meet and send-off visitors at the airport and assist in facilitating the required immigration and customs formalities when required during big events Drive designated Office staff to and from the Office and visitors when required. Provides back up to the Senior Driver when required Function 2 (incl. Expected results)Ensures the timely and accurate completion of messenger tasks, achieving results such as:
Deliver and collection of Diplomatic Pouch to and from the airport/UN office. Carry out daily banking transactions. Make payments at the post and telephone offices. Deliver and collect of mail, visas documents and other items from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Embassies or other Governmental Offices. Deliver and collect of airline tickets, travel documents, visas, etc., to and from travel agencies. Function 3 (incl. Expected results)Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, achieving results such as:
Accurate maintenance of daily log of official trips, including mileage and gas consumption. Ensure proper monitoring of the gas consumption and accurate reconciliation with log book Provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports. Ensure availability of car's insurance, emissions verification, etc. Timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs. Timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, etc. Daily washing of vehicle Function 4 (incl. Expected results)Other responsibilities related to messenger services, A/V equipment, Inventory, etc., achieving results such as:
Under the supervision of the Finance and Administrative Associate, assist in maintaining archives/documents in the WACAF archives. Provide assistance in the inventory Purchase miscellaneous items, stationery, coffee beak, supplies, etc. Office facilities, furniture and equipment maintenance and minor repair. Function 5 (incl. It should be noted that this post is to be filled on a fixed-term basis for an initial period of 3 years (first year is probationary for an external candidate).

Remuneration: Level G-2 Net Base Salary
