Under article 4.2, paragraph (e) of the Staff Regulations, the filling of vacancies in technical cooperation projects does not fall under Annex I of the Staff Regulations and is made by direct selection by the Director-General.

Technical cooperation appointments are not expected to lead to a career in the ILO and they do not carry any expectation of renewal or conversion to any other type of appointment in the Organization. A one-year fixed-term contract will be given. Extensions of technical cooperation contracts are subject to various elements including the following: availability of funds, continuing need of the functions and satisfactory conduct and performance.
*Conditions of employment for external candidates: In conformity with existing ILO practice, the appointment of an external candidate will normally be made at the first step of this grade. The entry level salary for this position is 79,366 CHF yearly.
The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is the world's leading international organization for social security institutions, government departments and agencies. Founded in 1927 under the auspices of the International Labour Organization, the ISSA counts more than 330 member organizations in over 160 countries.
The position is located in the Member Services and Promotion (MSP) Branch of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). The MSP Branch is the area within ISSA responsible for communications, publications, member engagement and events.
Under the direction of the Director of MSP, the incumbent provides a range of standard text processing services to the language and publications activities of the ISSA. The incumbent will handle ISSA’s translation and interpretation requests, support the ISSA online events and publications production. The incumbent works independently; work is reviewed for the timely delivery of results. Supervision received is focused on the quality of process execution and to provide developmental and technical support. The position collaborates across the ISSA organization.
The position reports to the Director of MSP.
Completion of secondary school education. Certificate in terminology or editing would be an advantage.
At least five years of relevant experience.
Excellent command of English and a working knowledge of a second working language (French or Spanish). Working knowledge of either of the other two working languages (French/Spanish or German) of the ISSA would be an advantage.
