Assist and support management in the definition of the strategy regarding data science Manage the lifecycle maintenance Initiate incident investigation and follow up Lead and/or support change management projects where data science is involved Conduct the assurance activities required by the internal / external guidelines and in accordance with MUAC quality processes. Build and maintain an internal and external network (i.e., PRISME, A.I.) and stay up to date with innovation in field of expertise. Analyse requirements in close collaboration with internal and external users (e.g., HR, Airspace and Network Planning, Air Navigation Service Providers), evaluate, identify, and design innovative software solutions (prototyping to final product) to satisfy business needs. Study new areas where data science can increase MUAC efficiency and provide support (expertise, development) to MUAC projects that have identified such areas; take part in studies and presentations. Liase with MUAC product team(s) that have embedded data science in their products, take care of specific engineering tasks related to those components. Participate in work groups, meetings, projects, presentations, and create a connect between data scientists, data engineers, DevSecOps (operational deployment) and operational users. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Completed university studies of 4 years (Master's degree) in a relevant domain (e.g., Data Science, Business Intelligence & analytics, big data).

OR 3 years plus 1-year relevant professional experience in data science.

A minimum of 3 years’ relevant professional experience in data science.

Experience in analytical use of data. Experience of developing and designing software using data sources (e.g. Oracle database). Experience with data science tools and processes. Experience with working in an Air Traffic Management (ATM) environment is considered an asset. Technical writing skills (English). Communication: You foster two-way communication. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of five (5) years in accordance with the provisions of the Staff Regulations governing officials at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract. The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
