JOB TITLE: Cybersecurity Consultant – Threat Intelligence and Hunting

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the general supervision of the Chief TECI and the direct supervision of the Head of Cybersecurity Operations, the incumbent will drive WFP's efforts to operationalize cyber threat intelligence (CTI), strengthen threat hunting capabilities, and enhance detection engineering strategies. The role will focus on integrating cybersecurity tools into WFP’s cybersecurity framework, enabling quicker identification of emerging threats and improving WFP’s ability to pre-emptively defend against cyberattacks.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Develops, maintains, and supports a cyber threat intelligence capability and associated CTI tools into WFP’s cybersecurity system, enhancing threat data collection, analysis, production, and dissemination of timely and actionable cyber threat intelligence to inform different audiences and strengthen WFP’s cyber defense strategies Designs and establishes procedures for examining, evaluating, and profiling the structure, intentions, operational and technical capacities and TTPs of a specific sector or group within the adversary community relevant to WFP, maintaining customized threat profile map. Work with external partners to enhance threat intelligence feeds and build collaborative capacity. Utilize threat intelligence platform to inform WFP’s defensive strategies and threat hunting efforts, while sharing actionable intelligence with relevant WFP and its partners. Leverage on intel feeds, advanced threat hunting, cloud posture insights, and partnerships with other international organizations and intelligence communities to proactively identify emerging threats, staying updated on adversary TTPs to strengthen WFP’s defenses. Enhance detection engineering by correlating threat intel with suspicious files, URLs, and malware. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to improve alert accuracy, reduce false positives, and strengthen detection of malicious activities and security posture of WFP’s network and cloud environments. Facilitate the integration of related CTI tools with WFP’s cybersecurity platforms to ensure seamless collaboration between intelligence data and security systems. Document workflows and detection methods to ensure consistency in WFP’s cybersecurity operations, while identifying gaps in current processes and propose enhancement solutions. Perform other security related duties as required.

Education:
University Degree in the field of Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines or equivalent working experience in cybersecurity
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant work experience

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory. Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish), or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is highly desirable.
