We work with companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with the Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. As a special initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General, the United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. The United Nations Global Compact is seeking a consultant to work on the rollout of its work on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Africa in relation to the Africa Strategy. ● Lead design and delivery of FDE programming (French SME programme) in African French speaking countries. ● Support design and delivery of SPARK programming (Supply Chains and SMEs) in Africa Country Networks, including SME Peer Learning Groups and the uptake of the SME Learning Journey. ● Support the delivery the Global Compact’s programme in Morocco Qualifications/special skillsMaster’s Degree in Management, Economics, International Relations, Business Administration, Political Sciences, Public Administration or other relevant areas. ● Minimum 7 years of experience in managing projects; working on business development, organizational capacity development, and business process improvement ● Direct experience working in or with the private sector and small businesses in particular ● Experience working on issues related to corporate sustainability is preferred and understanding of sustainability as it relates to UN-business collaboration is desirable ● Knowledge of African economies and market trends is desirable. LanguagesFluency in English and French is essential (full command, both spoken and written). Knowledge of Arabic is desirable. Additional InformationNot available.
