Work LocationGeneva Expected duration12.01.26 - 09.10.26 Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn line with UNCTAD’s mandate to promote inclusive and sustainable digital economies, the eTrade Initiatives Section of the E-Commerce and Digital Economy (ECDE) Branch leads the eTrade for Women initiative. This flagship programme helps women digital entrepreneurs in developing countries access business growth opportunities and fosters public-private dialogue to build more gender-inclusive digital ecosystems. To build on the initiative’s achievements over the past 5 years and further strengthen its outreach and community engagement, the eTrade Initiatives Section seeks to hire a Community Engagement Specialist. The contractor will strengthen member interactions, peer learning, and platform adoption across eTrade for Women Communities (currently covering 5 regions from the Global South and a global community) by designing and implementing community building and nurturing activities. The Specialist will also support Community Leaders and improve the user experience on the community platform—guided by clear engagement metrics and feedback loops. Under the supervision of the Chief of Section, and in close collaboration with the Programme Management Officers in the team, the individual contractor will deliver expertise in the following key areas: 1. Community Engagement 1) Support and contribute to the organization of virtual activities for the eTrade for Women Communities across regions in coordination with the team and the Community Leaders to ensure activities are relevant, timely, and tailored to the needs of members. 2) Develop and track engagement (including through metrics) to assess Community members’ participation (attendance, interaction, feedback, peer-to-peer collaboration). 3) Identify opportunities to highlight active members and foster a culture of recognition within the Communities 4) Review and improve the current member onboarding journey 2. Community Leaders Support 1) Offer guidance and support to Community Leaders and members to encourage content sharing and active participation, strengthening their role as active beneficiaries of and contributors to the initiative. 2) Support the monthly coordination meetings with the Leaders to share progress, discuss current challenges, and align actions. 3. Strategic support for the eTrade for Women Platform and Academy 1) Promote the eTrade for Women online platform and Academy amongst members of the Communities to increase awareness, adoption, and continuous user interaction. 2) Upload relevant and timely information to the platform to help strengthen its positioning as a go-to resource for women digital entrepreneurs from the Communities. 3) Provide guidance on possible actions to improve user experience. 4) Facilitate the timely publication of new courses for the Academy and available learning materials on the platform. 4. Data Analytics and Performance Reporting 1) Prepare regular analytical reports, using available analytics dashboards, to monitor the outreach of the online activity of the initiative to track performance across various digital channels and assess main trends/progress. 2) Use data-driven findings to refine and optimize communication and community engagement and ensure alignment with the initiative’s overall objectives. Qualifications/special skillsA first university degree, Bachelor, in Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Development, Communications, or related field is required At least 3 years of proven work experience in community building, stakeholder management, or network building—preferably in international development, digital entrepreneurship, or gender equality programmes Hands-on experience with community platforms/LMS (e.g., Mighty Networks, HiveBrite, etc) and online event production (Zoom/Teams) is required Proven ability to design member journeys, onboard and re-activate users, and track engagement metrics is desirable Experience with the UN is desirable LanguagesFluency oral and written in English and Spanish is required. knowledge of French is desirable Additional InformationNot available.
