Work LocationHQ-Based Expected duration3 months extendable Duties and ResponsibilitiesBACKGROUND: The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint cooperation agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN) for trade-related technical assistance. Its primary objective is to assist developing countries to enhance their international competitiveness while taking advantage of market opportunities and increasing their exports. The Trade and Market Intelligence section (TMI) has developed a range of online tools for strategic and operational market research, focusing on products and markets of interest to developing countries and assessing sectoral and national trade performance and competitiveness. Trade Map (TM) is one of ITC’s flagship tools, providing comprehensive trade statistics and market analysis. TMI is currently revamping TM to improve the user experience through a modernised interface, enhanced features, and updated guidance materials. To ensure the successful launch of the new TM beta, TMI seeks an intern to support communications, user engagement, promotional content creation, and launch event preparation. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Market Analyst (TMI), the intern will: • Support Communications and Promotion, including: o Support the development and implementation of the communications and promotional plan for the new TM beta launch. o Create promotional materials (e.g., visuals, brochures, infographics) aligned with the new interface, including content for social media channels. o Produce launch-related videos, including promotional clips, updated user guides, and guided tour demonstrations. o Support the preparation and organisation of the new TM beta launch event. • Support User Engagement and Feedback, including: o Update user guides, help pages, and tutorial videos to reflect the new platform features. o Assist in conducting and compiling results of user testing for the new TM beta, including collecting feedback, documenting findings, and suggesting improvements. o Assist in user communication for the beta launch, respond to user queries during the beta phase, and ensure timely follow-up. Qualifications/special skillsEDUCATION At the time of application, applicants shall meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. Relevant fields of study include international trade, economics, business, marketing, communications, or similar. Competencies and experience required: • Understanding of international trade and data; experience using Trade Map or similar market analysis tools would be an asset. • Demonstrated skills in creating multimedia content, including videos and promotional materials, and experience creating content for social media platforms. • Experience in communications and/or marketing, preferably for digital platforms. • Experience in gathering and analysing user feedback and translating it into actionable recommendations is desirable. • Experience in organising or supporting events, including virtual events, would be an asset. Languages• Fluency in written and spoken English is required. • Strong communication, writing and organisational skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment. • Creativity and attention to detail in producing communication materials.
