TE-MSC-NCM is responsible for all normal-conducting (NC) magnets in the CERN accelerator complex. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Engineer specialising in CNC machining and CAD/CAM to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Engineer specialised in CNC machining and CAD/CAM, you will be responsible for the following:
3D Modelling and Design: Utilise CATIA software to create detailed 3D models of magnet and tooling components, ensuring accuracy and precision in every design;CNC Programming: Generate CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, ensuring optimal toolpaths and machining parameters for efficient production processes;Direct CNC Programming: Proficiently program CNC milling machines directly, ensuring seamless execution of machining operations for high-quality parts production;Production and QA: Oversee the production of parts, maintaining strict quality standards. Create and manage QA documentation related to the produced parts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project-specific requirements;Workshop Activities: Actively participate in NC magnet-related activities in our workshops, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise manufacturing processes and enhance product quality;Tooling Development: Contribute to the development of manufacturing and renovation tooling for NC magnets, employing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and precision.More information here: https://te-msc-ncm.web.cern.ch
Who we are looking for
Skills and/or knowledge
Experience in 3D modelling using CATIA or equivalent CAD-environment;Experience inCNC programming using CAD/CAM software;Experience in direct programming of CNC machines. OExperience in operating conventional workshop machines;Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.Eligibility criteria:
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Job closing date: January 19 at 23:59 PM (CET).
