The IOM in Brazil is implementing a socio-economic integration project for migrants and refugees, aiming to promote the social and economic inclusion of this population by ensuring access to employment opportunities, income generation, and public services. In this context, partnerships are established with the private sector, government bodies, and civil society actors, with the purpose of encouraging inclusive practices that facilitate labor market insertion and the integration of migrants and refugees.
The consultant will provide technical and strategic support to IOM within the framework of the socio-economic integration project for migrants and refugees in Brazil, contributing to the strengthening of public policies and concrete actions that promote the social, economic, and civic inclusion of this population. In this context, the consultant will play a strategic role in coordinating among different actors, including public institutions, civil society, and the private sector, strengthening networks and promoting the integration of the migrant population. The consultancy will also contribute to the systematization and dissemination of technical knowledge on integration policies, offering input for the formulation of innovative, evidence-based, and human rights-oriented strategies.
Accordingly, the consultant will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing challenges and opportunities related to migration at the local and regional levels, proposing solutions that facilitate migrants’ access to basic services, employment opportunities, income generation, and civic participation mechanisms. In addition, the consultant will support IOM in promoting initiatives that foster institutional learning, exchange of experiences between different municipalities, and the strengthening of the technical capacities of actors involved in migration governance.
Based on the nature of the consultancy and the project’s context and scope, the consultant will perform the following tasks:
