  1. Role and responsibilities

    The following is a brief description of the role. 

    Generic responsibilities

    • Assist implementation of the program portfolio according to plan of action.
    • Prepare and develop status reports as required by project management.
    • Ensure proper filing of documents.
    • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.

      Specific responsibilities

      • Ensure that all data and information are handled in a safe and confidential manner, in line with applicable data protection and information sharing protocols.
      • Support data security, data protection and responsible data-sharing.
      • Guarantee information flow, storage and archiving of data as per NRC’s standards
      • Assist the Camp Management team in data collection and data entry, database use and troubleshooting, when required.
      • Support monthly review, and monthly revision of all data registered into Household and Shelters/infrastructures databases. Identify and remove all duplicate, inaccurate, and incomplete sets of data.
      • Maintain up to date beneficiary database by monthly in collaboration with program team.
      • Support the team in developing Kobo tools such assessments, PDMs, OMEs and data analysis of household list in camps by collaborating with MEL colleagues
      • Assist the team ensuring that relevant documents are uploaded to the Camp Management SharePoint and kept in safe with confidential manner according to NRC’s standard.
      • Provide technical support to the team in terms of using KoBo tools for data collection, Microsoft office 365+, and online communication platforms such as Microsoft Team, etc.
      • Under the guidance of the Camp Management Team Leader and Coordinator, provide monthly inputs to the M&E matrixes for all the relevant projects and communicate with MEL colleagues to verify the data provided into the matrixes as needed.
      • Assist the team providing data analysis and contribute to producing reports as requested.
      • Participate in documentation of the project for lessons learnt and provide inputs and feedback to the Camp Management Team Leader, Coordinator and Manager
      • Any other additional responsibility assigned by the supervisor

              Generic professional competencies:

              • A university degree in computer Sciences/Information Systems/Information Technology or related technical field.
              • Minimum 1 year of experience working on information management
              • Familiarity with or interest in data analysis and visualization programs, (e.g. Power BI, ArcMap, Stata, SPSS, Knowledge of R, Tableau, Adobe Illustrator and In-Design)
              • Strong system and data audit capacity
              • Mastery of IT tools (MS Office package, internet, e-mail, etc.)
              • Sufficient working knowledge of English, both written and verbal.

                Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

                • Knowledge of the context in the geographical area of responsibility is essential.
