For more information on UNICRI, please visit the website: www.unicri.it ResponsibilitiesWithin assigned authority, the Associate Programme Officer will be responsible for the following specific duties: • Provide support in the implementation of the UNICRI training and advanced education programmes and projects, including the annual Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Transnational Crime and Justice, the annual online Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law, in collaboration with UNICRI’s academic partner institution and donor in Costa-Rica, Latin America, the International Criminal Law Defence Seminar and any other on-line and in-person training activities organized by the TAE Unit. • Work with key clients and stakeholders to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects; monitor and analyse specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation; review relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues to be addressed and recommend corrective actions; identify and tracks follow-up actions. • Carry out basic research on selected aspects of projects and programmes, as well as training activities, to include collecting, analyzing and presenting statistical data and other information gathered from diverse sources. • Participate in survey initiatives; assist with design of data collection tools; issue data collection tools, review, analyse and interpret responses, identify problems/issues and prepare preliminary conclusions. • Advise and provide guidance on the management of the e-learning platforms for the annual Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Transnational Crime and Justice and the annual online Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law, including training materials, schedules, post announcements and online delivered activities and exams. • Together with the Programme Officer, liaise with relevant stakeholders, including project partners, students and lecturers, on project-related issues. • Collect and analyse data, including evidence, to identify trends or patterns and provide insights to enable data- or evidence-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting, including drafting of contents for new Master and training courses of the UNICRI training and advanced education programmes. • Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, activities’ progress reports, training and advanced education web-pages updates, etc. • Undertake outreach activities; participate in the development of UNICRI training and advanced education professional training, workshops, seminars, post-graduate Master programmes, etc.; participate in and make presentations on assigned topics/activities. • Participate in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, etc. • Perform other work-related duties, as assigned. A first-level university degree in same fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P). Work ExperienceA minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in project or programme management in the field of training and education in crime prevention and criminal justice, or the successful completion of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P) is required. Working experience in postgraduate education in international criminal law, cybercrime, and cybersecurity is desirable. Work experience within the United Nations system or other similar international organizations is desirable. Experience in analysis of data or evidence or related area is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage. Special NoticeThis position is funded from extra-budgetary resources. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year and will be limited to service with UNICRI.
