The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the UNODC Programme Coordinator heading the Programme Office in The Gambia. For more information on UNODC, please visit the website www.unodc.org ResponsibilitiesWithin delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: • Assist in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring UNODC activities; • Support the Programme Coordinator by reviewing and analysing key documentation; • Organize, manage and prepare background materials and any other executive level support for reports, speeches, and presentations for meetings with government, UN agencies and donors; • Assist with planning and organizing political and technical visits; • Draft responses to correspondence, notes-to-the file, as requested by the Programme Coordinator; • Liaise with national counterparts and key resource persons involved in the programme activities in The Gambia to assess priority needs; • Assist in preparing annual work plans, and drafting activity reports; • Contribute to the timely implementation of planned activities as identified in work plans and provide technical assistance to national partners to implement project activities; • Assist in developing Terms of reference for the procurement of technical services; • Support the preparation and organization of training sessions; this includes recruiting trainers and arranging practical training details; • Draft semi-annual and annual project progress reports (PPR), including financial reports and/or statements of account and mid-term review reports, which will include briefings on the lessons learnt; • Contribute to follow-up actions to obtain final activity and financial reports from national counterparts and main partners of the project activities; • Participate in specific meetings of UN Theme Group and others relevant meetings if requested; • Contribute to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all UNODC activities and prepare relevant reports; • Contribute to the collection and analysis of data and identification of trends or patterns and provide draft insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. • Document requirements and background information used for data analysis. • Perform any other work-related duties or special assignments, as required by the Programme Coordinator and/or UNODC Regional Office Senegal (ROSEN).
