Under article 4.2, paragraph (e) of the Staff Regulations, the filling of development cooperation vacancies does not fall under Annex I of the Staff Regulations and is made by direct selection by the Director-General.

Development cooperation appointments are not expected to lead to a career in the ILO and they do not carry any expectation of renewal or conversion to any other type of appointment in the Organization. A one-year fixed-term contract will be given. This position is located in the Application Management Services Branch (AMS) within the Information and Technology Management Department (INFOTEC). INFOTEC manages and governs the ILO’s portfolio of information and technology assets.
AMS is responsible for the design, development, maintenance and management of large-scale enterprise applications in support of administrative processes, knowledge sharing, decision-making and collaborative working. The Branch ensures that software being deployed throughout the Office conforms to ILO directives, policies and standards; provides measurable organizational value; aligns with Office-wide strategies and objectives; and represents effective and efficient use of technology. AMS is responsible for implementing agile, cost-effective, innovative and transformative digital solutions to improve business processes and to support staff with the tools and applications they need to increase productivity and improve working methods. The Branch manages the following general application categories and technology solutions: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Administrative Applications; Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Reporting; Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Intranet and Public Website; Digital Working Methods, Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration; and Custom Developed Applications and Solutions.
The position provides expertise in application testing and quality processes. The position creates and maintains test repositories, cases, plans and ensures solutions function without error prior to being transitioned into operation. The position engages solution analysts to ensure identified issues are properly tracked and resolved in a systematic manner. The position leverage offshore test team and test management tools to deliver the job duties.
This position reports to Unit head in AMS.
Advanced university degree in IT, Information Management or other related field. A first level university degree in one of the afore-mentioned field with an additional two years of relevant experience, in addition to the required experience stated below, will be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Excellent command of English and a working knowledge of a second official language (French, Spanish) of the Organization.
