The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking a motivated candidate to to join its dynamic team in Tashkent, Uzbekistan as an Administrative Officer.

The Administration Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of day-to-day office operations, providing essential logistical and administrative support, and coordinating communication with government entities. This role supports both internal operations and external engagements by managing travel, office logistics, events, and liaison functions. The Administration Officer contributes directly to the organization\u2019s operational effectiveness and institutional relationships.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative and Operational Support,

Oversee daily office operations, ensuring efficient maintenance of supplies, equipment, and facilities. Provide comprehensive administrative support to staff and visitors, including documentation, scheduling, and clerical tasks. Facilitate smooth internal communication and coordination across departments.

Event and Meeting Coordination,

Manage logistics for internal meetings (including virtual and hybrid meetings), workshops, and external events, including venue booking, catering, preparation of materials, and technical support to ensure smooth facilitation and efficient coordination. Collaborate with program and outreach teams to align events with project objectives.

Liaison and Government Coordination,

Serve as a liaison under the supervision of the Country Representative & Administrative and Finance Manager with relevant government ministries, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and regulatory agencies, to support official communications and coordination. Assist in the preparation and submission of documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and secure official approvals. Support visa applications, permit processes, and official correspondence with authorities.

Travel and Logistics Management,

Coordinate travel arrangements for staff & guests, including booking flights, accommodations, ground transport, and preparing documentation. Provide logistical support to international visitors, including orientation and in-country coordination. Track and maintain records of travel-related expenses in line with organizational policies.

Requirements

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential,

Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, International Relations, or a closely related discipline. At least 03 to 05 years of highly relevant experience in office administration, logistics, or liaison functions.

Desirable,

Prior experience working with government agencies or international organizations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Essential,

Proficiency in Microsoft office package especially in Word and Excel coupled with good computer skills to analyse data, consolidate information, and track measures. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams). Excellent service delivery approach. Good administrative and management skills, with strong problem-solving abilities. Strong personal organization skills, capable of prioritizing and multitasking effectively. Excellent oral and written language skills in English, Russian & Uzbek, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Desirable,

Strong written and verbal communication skills in additional regional languages. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills. Well-versed in protocol procedures and coordination with government entities. Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced, multicultural settings. Detail-oriented and dependable, with a commitment to confidentiality.

This is a nationally recruited position and only Uzbek nationals will be considered. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
