About this position:
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated and team-oriented investment professional to work as a Treasury and Risk Senior Associate – Pensions Investments within the Executive Secretariat of the Staff Retirement Plans. As a member of the team, you will be involved in investment, risk management, compliance review, reporting, quantitative and financial analysis, monitoring external investment managers (EIM), completing reporting and tasks associated with pension investment systems in an efficient and effective manner.
The Investment Team is responsible for coordinating five Plans with assets totaling more than $7.2 billion: three Defined Benefit Pension Plans (Staff, Local and Complementary Staff), one Postretirement Benefits Plan and a Retiree Life Insurance Program. The five Plans’ assets are diversified and are subject to governing committee-approved Investment Policy Statements. In addition to handling the Plans’ diverse asset class investments, which are run in more than 80 individual fund/strategy vehicles by more than 20 investment management firms, the team provides input to the Finance, Human Resources and Risk Management Departments, to Senior Management, to the Board of Executive Directors and to Governing Committees, all of which require subject matter expertise, multi-group interaction and reporting results.
What you’ll do:
Lead the in-depth monitoring of the assigned asset(s) class(es) and due diligence of EIMs. Provide input into asset-liability studies and develop expected risk and return metrics for assigned asset classes. Conduct economic and investment research and provide recommendations on portfolio decisions, including rebalancing activities, for covered asset classes. Play a key role in the development and improvement of investment and risk management processes. Be responsible for the team’s investment guidelines compliance review process, including reviewing internal control reports and anti-money laundering requirements. Prepare periodic reports and decision-making documents for the Plans’ governing committees and senior management. Build and maintain dashboards of covered asset classes and manager monitoring tools for internal use and to support with reports for stakeholders. Coordinate legal agreements and regulatory inquiries related to EIMs and asset classes. Provide input to the Bank in the implementation of its climate-related disclosures under global sustainability reporting standards (e.g. Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Boards (ISSB), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) frameworks) to EIMs. Conduct operational related tasks, such as trade orders, preparation of financial statements, fee payments, monthly reconciliation, etc. Run and maintain the daily performance report. Work under the limited supervision of others. Provide procedural/task guidance to more junior colleagues.What you’ll need:
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. Additional CFA or CAIA charter or other investment training strongly preferred. Risk and Project management training is a plus. Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting, finance and/or investments. Experience in operations, risk management, project management, pension reporting, and/or transactions strongly desired. Systems: Proficiency in Excel required. Bloomberg and any data management, analysis and visualization tools experience and knowledge strongly desired. Languages: Proficiency in English required. Knowledge of another Bank official language (Spanish, French and/or Portuguese) is highly desired.Key Skills:
