About this position

We are looking for a dedicated, energetic, and team-oriented Treasury & Risk-Funding Senior Specialist/Specialist.

You will work in the Funding team, which funds the Bank by issuing bonds in international capital markets, executing derivatives in conjunction with bond issuances, and managing the Investor Relations Program.

What you’ll do:

Work with ESG rating agencies regarding IDB’s ratings and seek to maintain the highest possible rating standards. Enhance reporting for ESG debt products by automating and consolidating information from various internal data sources. Manage and program internal ESG reporting databases. Oversee the reporting process in part by writing and editing content, ensuring data accuracy, and coordinating production. Participate in the Investor Relations Program. Develop and update marketing materials regarding IDB’s ESG activities in various media formats. Participate IDB on ESG-related working groups, both internal and external, e.g., related to the regulatory framework of ESG-related disclosures, best practices for labeled bond reporting, Participate in the analysis and execution of bond transactions denominated in various international currencies and interest rate/currency swaps and options related to bonds and local currency treasuries; and make recommendations for bond/swap transactions. Understand the financial markets of IDB’s top currencies of issuance, including economic background, relevant bond issuances, and regulatory aspects impacting IDB. Coordinate, collaborate, and liaise with various internal interdisciplinary areas, including groups in Treasury, Legal, Risk Management, Accounting, and Sovereign Lending units, in conceptualizing technical solutions/ institutional policies. Build and manage relationships with banks and swap counterparties Participate in and contribute to the technical and operational implementation of the IDB’s Treasury Management System and other related systems projects. Guide, coach, and mentor junior staff within the Treasury Division to develop technical expertise. Work independently with limited oversight. Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A CFA be accepted instead of a master’s degree.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in multi-currency Funding, Capital Markets, fixed-income securities, Derivatives treasury operations, Investor Relations, and/or ESG evaluation capacity. Knowledge of Bloomberg is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred.

Languages: Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in one of the other Bank’s official languages (Spanish, Portuguese and/or French) is desired.

Type of contract and duration

International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
