Independent analysis to support evidence-based decision making for humanitarian operations.  Deployment of experts to support assessments and analysis in crisis.   Innovative approaches to collect more reliable and timely data and conduct rigorous analysis Capacity development of humanitarian actors to carry out better needs assessments and analysis

Consultancy assignment background

ACAPS partnered with RedR UK to meaningfully increase the capacity in the humanitarian sector to produce impactful analysis and better evidence for decision-making. For this we are launching a brand new 10-week online training course on the basics of humanitarian analysis, where humanitarians will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to provide quality analysis. The online course will be based on real-life humanitarian examples and will combine short self-paced online modules, individual and group work, peer-peer learning and live facilitated sessions by a qualified training facilitator.

The Training Facilitator will play a pivotal role in the training, interacting directly with the learners and providing a personalised learning experience. They will thus directly contribute to the strengthening of the analytical capacity of the humanitarian sector.

The facilitators themselves will be trained in the analytical approach of ACAPS, complete a Training of Trainers (ToT) and will be coached on the course content delivery and management.

We are looking to have a diverse team of facilitators from across the globe and are therefore seeking multiple consultants to fill these positions.

The position is home-based as the course will take place entirely online. It will require an estimated total equivalent of 1 day of work per week during the 10-week course (calculated on an hourly basis). It will also include additional work made on request during the consultancy period to take part in pre-course training for facilitators and an evaluation session.
