Project Context and Scope   IOM Tajikistan is seeking to strengthen its traditional and social media presence to increase visibility, engagement, and impact among key stakeholders, including government bodies, civil society organizations, the private sector, and the general public. Under the direct supervision of the PSU Officer and Senior Communications Associate, the traditional and social media management consultant will be responsible for supporting the management of media content, creating high-quality results-based content, and leveraging innovative technologies to drive organic growth across IOM's digital platforms.   Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing
Project Support Unit (PSU)  Tasks to be performed under this contract

  1. Produce diverse digital content such as articles, blog posts, social media updates, infographics, and videos. The content should be tailored to resonate with various stakeholders, including government bodies, civil society organizations, the private sector, and the general public.
  2. Leverage expertise in generative neural networks and artificial intelligence to create innovative and interactive content. This may include AI-driven visualizations, automated content generation, and other advanced digital solutions to enhance audience engagement.
  3. Ensure that all content adheres to IOM's branding guidelines and is culturally sensitive, accurate, and accessible to a diverse audience.
  4. Work closely with IOM's team to incorporate feedback and ensure the timely approval and publication of digital content. The consultant will also be responsible for coordinating with external partners and vendors as needed.
  5. Monitor the performance of digital content and campaigns, providing regular analytics reports with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  6. Drive organic growth in digital engagement metrics, including follower counts, post interactions, and overall reach on IOM's digital platforms.
  7. Support mission-level communication activities and events. Performance indicators for the evaluation of results

      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Journalism and Communications or a related discipline from an accredited academic institution Experience
        • At least 3 years of experience in communications, with a strong background in content development and campaign management 
        • Good understanding of migration and humanitarian issues, with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible and compelling digital content 
        • Familiarity with the local context of rural Tajikistan
        • Strong computer literacy and experience in using the social media platforms Skills
          • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously 
          • Experience working with international organizations or non-governmental organizations is an advantage
          • Excellent organizational skills
          • Ability to work with limited supervision
          • Work effectively with donors, local authorities, beneficiaries and the broader community to advance country office or regional objectives
          • In-depth knowledge of the broad range of communication tools dealt with by the Organization. Languages
            • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in Tajik, English, and Russian  Travel required

IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work. IOM does not charge a fee at any stage of its recruitment process (application, interview, processing, training or other fee). IOM does not request any information related to bank accounts.
