POSITION SUMMARY: The New Business Program Associate (NB PA) will provide administrative, communications, proposal development, and knowledge management support related to business development. The NB PA will be a member of Winrock’s Environment and Energy team, supporting new business efforts under the direction of the Associate Director, New Business E2. The NB PA role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative work environment and is ready to gain hands-on experience in international development. This is a temporary position through February 28, 2025. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide logistical and administrative support to E2-led capture and proposal teams (e.g., obtaining bid and proposal cost center, scheduling meetings, taking notes, compiling staff and partner inputs, formatting proposal documents, facilitating internal approval processes for proposals and new awards, and archiving proposal documents.) As assigned, play a contributing role on proposal teams, including writing narrative sub-sections, gathering and analyzing technical and cost proposal supporting documents/annexes, sourcing and recruiting key personnel candidates, tailoring resumes, supporting development of management sections, developing compliance matrices, or serving as partner liaison. Liaise with E2 team leaders to document and facilitate business case and resource plan approval. Support recruitment and provide logistical support to new business consultants, including drafting and administering agreements, tracking level of effort and payments, and submitting invoices in a timely manner. Create and regularly update E2 records in the opportunity tracking database, ensuring all records are complete, accurate, and up to date. Support E2’s internal monitoring and documentation of business development activities and administrative/operational/financial tasks (e.g., bid and proposal spending, level of effort allocations, pipeline updates). Maintain E2’s current past performance and organizational capacity resources, ensuring content is of high quality, accurate, up-to-date, and complete. Conduct desk research including intelligence gathering on funding opportunities, competitor analyses, client forecasts and priorities, sector trends, and geography-specific data. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND: Bachelor’s degree in related fields. One year of professional work experience in new business, program coordination, administration, or logistical support highly preferred Strong writing, verbal, intercultural, and interpersonal communications skills. Demonstrated interest in technical areas related to natural resource management, clean energy, biodiversity, climate adaptation, climate mitigation, or related area via previous work/volunteer experience and/or academic coursework/research. Experience in research and data analysis. Excellent organizational skills, including ability to coordinate a variety of tasks, balance competing demands, meet deadlines, and to work effectively with teams. Proficiency in MS Office. English fluency required; fluency in a second language a plus. Must be authorized to work in the United States This is a temporary position through February 28, 2025. The pay for this position is $30 per hour. As this is a temporary position, benefits are not part of the package, however the offered hourly rate reflects the absence of traditional benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement contributions.
