    STOREKEEPER

    Job Title : Storekeeper
    Duration : 1 year (Renewable)
    Post Grade : GS 4
    Contract Type : Fixed Term

    ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
    These jobs are found in WFP warehouses. Job holders report to the Warehouse Management Assistant/Associate or the designate. Job holders are exposed to all phases of the warehouse operations and work with minimum supervision. They may provide supervision and on-the-job training to other warehouse staff.
    To handle receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities in order to maximize quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under the direct supervision of the Senior StoreKeeper, the Storekeeper will be responsible for the following duties.
    • Receive all the UNHRD Clients’ food (HEBs) and non-food commodities;
    • Report on the quality, quantity of the received commodities and ensure that quantities dispatched as per consignor’s documents match with quantities received and endorse documents.
    • Maintain clean and pest-free storing conditions;
    • Ensure good warehousing practices;
    • Supervise the offloading and stacking of the commodities, follow up tracking of the commodities in pipeline and report the same to the appropriate personnel;
    • Maintain records and/or ensure that assistants assigned to the various stores keep records of the items
    • Supervise offloading/loading activities at the warehouses, adhering to the WFP systems, specifically SAP/WINGS2;
    • Control incoming goods both food and non-food commodities by such methods as physical counts, weight checks, reporting/taking note on any spoiled commodity, reconditioning of underweight bags, etc.
    • Sign waybills or CMRs of received and dispatched cargo;
    • Deliver goods on request against official and approved documentation such as Packing Lists;
    • Make periodic physical inventory checks;
    • Keep updated records on computer inventory lists;
    • Liaise with colleagues in UNHRD and elsewhere and others on matters pertaining to logistics;
    • Report on and, in consultation with others, take appropriate action for the disposal of spoilt commodities.
    • Provide overall supervision and training of other storekeepers and casual laborers;
    • Provide support to Training courses run by UNHRD as requested;
    • Deploy with the UNHRD Rapid Response Team as per UNHRD SOPs;
    • Support UNHRD Ghana with additional tasks in (WING2 AND WMS) such as, Creation and Posting of Service and Transport POs, PRs, SES/GRNs, IRs and Put-away in the system.
    • We take care also for repackaging materials as required;
    • Advise on cargo configurations and participate in loading of air and land dispatches
    • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with local and UN safety regulations
    • Driving of forklift, Trucks and warehouse equipment in the Hub as required

    MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
    Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.

    DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
    • A minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in warehouse management, storekeeping and other relevant fields corresponding to the advertisement
    • Experience in managing warehouses with food and NFIs.
    • Experience using logistics databases to extract routine reports.
    • Experience in managing inventories.
    • Experience in processing invoices.

    LANGUAGE:
    Fluency and good command of the English language is essential.
