The Action aims to support the Greek authorities, with the provision of targeted reception support and critical integration services, aiming to a smooth transition to the national integration programme, namely the HELIOS1+ also implemented by IOM. As a result, it is expected that the Action will contribute to the beneficiaries’ smooth and sustainable integration in the country, as well as to enhanced solidarity and fair responsibility sharing among EUMS. 

Under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Protection Assistant, the successful candidate will provide support in implementing project activities through provision of psychosocial services.

  1. Organize and participate in individual or group sessions to provide social support to the beneficiaries, trying to discuss and assist the beneficiary with challenges which may arise until the transition to the national integration system of Greece. 
  2. Map existing provisions in both the national and the humanitarian system that are available and accessible to the beneficiaries of the action. 
  3. Assist the beneficiaries with all the necessary information in order to access relevant specialized care and/or administrative services. Prepare documentation, leaflets and outreach messaging in collaboration with interpreters. 
  4. Organize any required protection referrals to all relevant actors and follow up for any issue related to beneficiaries' best interest and integration process. If needed, assist the IOM Field Assistant and RIS management team in the arrival/first reception process of beneficiaries and in the escorting process.  
  5. Support the Field Assistants in distribution of personal hygiene to the beneficiaries, according to their needs.
  6. Escort the beneficiaries to public services and/or other entities linked with integration activities. 
  7. Provide support in the conduction of a skills assessment in order to facilitate the smooth transition to the national integration system.
  8. Conduct frequent travels to the Agia Eleni Accommodation Facility (Ioannina) as per the needs. 
  9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Education
    • University degree in Social Sciences from an accredited academic institution; two years of relevant work experience would be an advantage.   Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.   Experience
      • Previous experience in a similar role preferred;
      • Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees preferred;
      • Previous experience working with children preferred;
      • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment an advantage; Skills
        • Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills;
        • Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office, etc). Certification of computer literacy will be an asset;
        • Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage;
        • Personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility. Languages
          • Fluency in Greek  certified working knowledge of English or French (oral and written) is required.  IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
