Under the overall supervision of the Senior Protection Coordinator and the Protection Officer, and under the direct supervision of the Senior Protection Assistant in Tunis, the successful candidate will ensure the daily management and coordination of assigned shelter and of follow-up with beneficiaries.

In particular, he/she will:

  1. Act as general point of contact in all matters pertinent to IOM’s intervention on site.
  2. Manages shelter information, including data collection on activities and service provision, and information dissemination to beneficiaries, on-site actors and stakeholders. 
  3. Encourage and monitor engagement, mobilization, and participation of shelter beneficiaries with particular emphasis on the inclusion of women, unaccompanied migrants children, persons with specific needs, including migrants with health needs and migrants with disabilities into decision-making processes
  4. Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
  5. Monitor and ensure that all project activities are in place according to set schedule and specific guidelines. 
  6. Leads on shelter administration in the daily management and coordination of the shelter.
  7. Conduct regular assessments, undertake monitoring activities, and provide progress reports for all implemented activities, ensuring compliance and alignment with the Mission’s policies, procedures, and IOM’s Standards of Conduct in all implemented activities.
  8. Assistance to migrants: coordinates reception and identification of beneficiaries; brief them on assistance and rules; monitor compliance with shelter rules; prepare room and ensure availability of kits; ensure distribution of kits; take roll daily of migrant present in the shelter.
  9. Shelter maintenance and hygiene: ensure that shelter is operational and report issues; ensure that beneficiaries make proper use of the infrastructures; supervise hygiene and cleaning of the shelter;
  10. Security: Check shelter infrastructures daily and report potential and actual security risk and issues; coordinate safety and security incidents and emergency evacuations.

    EDUCATION

    • High School Diploma with four years of relevant work experience; or
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution with two year of experience in operations, assistance to migrants, and humanitarian work.
