PSI is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor to work closely with the Global Infectious Disease Lead/ Project Director on the CIFF-funded portfolio of projects aimed at introducing and scaling PrEP. This includes advancing the rapid rollout of lenacapavir and expanding access to simplified HIV testing approaches, including HIV self-testing. These initiatives focus on supporting governments and partners to enhance efficiency and integration of HIV prevention programs, leveraging innovations like HIVST and to strengthen linkages between HIV testing and prevention and treatment services. In addition to this portfolio, the Senior Technical Advisor will contribute to other key workstreams within the infectious disease team and play an active role in ongoing and new resource mobilization efforts.
What You'll Do
Technical: Manage the development of the project's technical activities and strategy, including lead the design and implementation of both quantitative and qualitative analyses to address key evidence gaps and create an enabling environment for injectable PrEP scale-up. This may include developing HIV testing and linkage strategies, identifying priority sub-national geographies and populations, optimizing delivery models, conducting cost and impact analyses (including use of HIVST for facility- and community-based delivery), and assessing health systems and policy implications. Provide remote and in-country technical assistance to build the capacity of network members to effectively deliver results in line with PSI and global best practices and the department's technical strategy. Prepare clear, compelling presentations to communicate analyses, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders, partners, and donors. Stay current on HIV prevention and testing developments, including implementation science, program design, and emerging evidence, and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the team.Representation: Engage with donors and represent PSI in external forums. Convey PSI's work in written and verbal form. Coordinate regular and ad hoc reporting to donors and partners, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality updates. Thought Leadership / Knowledge Management: Strengthen cross-team collaboration by supporting monthly prevention team meetings and coordination with related areas such as HIV testing, pediatrics, and other program teams. Engage externally to represent PSI and demonstrate technical expertise, capacity and experience in a specific technical area. Develop new tools/frameworks or content for publications (e.g. blogs, manuscripts, etc.) that demonstrate PSI's technical expertise and experience in a specific technical area.Fundraising: Contribute to new business development by writing or reviewing proposals, as well as identifying new funding opportunities. May lead large and / or complex bids. Program Management: Manage technical workstreams - track and oversee country and project progress to ensure alignment with agreed deliverables, timelines, and milestones.People Management: May manage people; provide coaching and mentoring to staff. What You'll Bring
Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field (e.g., MPH, MSc, MPP, MPA, MBA)
At least 10 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted.
Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in relevant technical area.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, set priorities, and plan for successful implementation of activities.Ability to contribute to thought leadership in relevant technical area.Ability to contribute to the internal and external body of evidence in relevant technical area.Ability to provide technical assistance to PSI network and prior experience with new and emerging HIV prevention products and services is highly desirable.Ability to share knowledge internally and externally with global communities of practice; represents PSI externally.Ability to solve problems with creativity and analyze complex issues using in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Ability to operate with minimal supervision and considerable latitude for independent judgement to achieve desired outcomes and ability to independently manage projects, set priorities, and plan for successful implementation of activities.Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external colleagues. Able to work as a member of a team and independently. Self-starter. Ability to lead development of technical approach for proposals and identify potential new business opportunities. Salary Ranges:*
PSI is committed to pay equity and transparency. We ensure pay meets the market within each country. This approach minimizes our impact on local talent markets and allows PSI to attract and retain employees, while staying cost-competitive.
Actual base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, internal equity, external market analysis, and other business factors permitted by law. Hiring above the mid-point of the range below would not be typical in order to allow for potential future salary growth.
PSI is offering the following gross annual salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:
For the United States (paid in USD): $108,000 (minimum) - $135,000 (midpoint) - $162,000 (maximum)For Kenya (paid in Ksh): Ksh 5,400,000 (minimum) - Ksh 9,000,000 (midpoint) - Ksh 11,700,000 (maximum)*For applicants applying outside of the US: Please note that those hired outside of the US will be employed through the local PSI office. Pay and benefits may be commensurate with the role and practices of the local office, including payment in local currency. Details will be provided during interview process.
