The Recruitment and Development Unit (RDU) is in the NORCAP HR Section and plays a pivotal role in hiring skilled professionals globally to support humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts. As a Senior Recruitment and Development Adviser, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to our mission with a degree of independence while still having room for growth and development.
You will join a team of 5 senior advisers with similar tasks, each aligned to specific thematic areas, and the Head of Unit. In this role you will not only be an expert in successfully leading complex recruitment initiatives, you will also build strong partnerships with hiring managers and be relied on for strategic recruitment advice.
The Senior Recruitment and Development Adviser will be responsible for implementing delegated areas of responsibility related to recruitment, selection, and development activities according to the department’s strategies and priorities. You will take on responsibilities with full autonomy, while still receiving support and guidance from other senior team members as needed. We are a team of diverse individuals coming from different backgrounds and areas of interest. Main tasks and responsibilities:
Recruitment
Analyse job description/terms of reference Drive the successful execution of end-to-end recruitment for crucial positions, ensuring exceptional experience for all stakeholders. Use existing assessment tools to evaluate candidates against agreed competence framework in cooperation with the team.Development
Spearhead the development and implementation of innovative recruitment tools and methodologies, driving continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness. Coach talent pool members with regards to presenting competencies and skills to partner organisations Support the development of recruitment expertise within the department, by coaching new staff. Spearhead the development and conducting of training for hiring managers and other relevant colleagues on the effective use of recruitment tools, and securing full adoption when new tools and guidelines are developed. Lead/support the development and implementation of recruitment-related initiatives e.g. employer branding, head office onboarding, and other initiatives in line with the department's strategy. As directed by the Head of Recruitment and Development, lead initiatives that result in the development/sustainment of synergistic approaches between the RDU and other sections in the department, and other relevant stakeholders in the NRC (e.g. Global Recruitment Centre) As part of risk management, support or lead initiatives as directed by the Head of Recruitment and Development, with the annual review of recruitment Standard Operation Procures (SOPs) and all recruitment processes against NORCAP quality standards Leading other tasks/initiatives as neededQualifications:

Experience with various recruitment and selection tools Understanding of the importance of a strong employer brand in recruitment and ideally experience in employer branding Tech savvy, comfortable communicating virtually and learning new digital tools and platforms, keeping abreast of advances in technology and social media Experience or comfortability in public speaking Experience using various programmes in Microsoft Office 365 is an advantage.
