Under the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator (Protection) and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer (VHR), the Senior Programme Support Associate is responsible for undertaking the following duties and responsibilities

  1. Provide input to project proposal development aligning them with IOM’s policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements.
  2. Coordinate the implementation of VHR Programme in a timely manner, collaborating constructively with the Migration Returns and Reintegration Officer and in carrying out all its financial, administrative and technical specialized transactions.
  3. Monitor expenditures and prepare financial reports.
  4. Monitor project activities to verify that the project is running on schedule and the planned indicators are met and address any delays in a timely manner, in coordination with the Protection Officer.  
  5. Supervise the Administrative Program Associate, facilitating effective support, guidance, and coordination within the program team.
  6. Support the execution of reintegration project work plans as well as monitoring and evaluation plans. Contribute to the development and dissemination of best practices for successful reintegration. 
  7. Provide regular feedback on work being accomplished to the Migration Returns and Reintegration Officer and keep supervisor immediately informed of any issues that arise.
  8. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding and sound application of relevant Movement Operations SOPs and Movements-related systems and databases (including MiMOSA and PRISM).
  9. Uphold a professional, impartial and unbiased conduct during all interactions with migrants and colleagues per the IOM Code of Conduct and instruction on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA.)
  10. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all relevant paperwork in line with standards of conduct and data protection rules. Alert the management of any non-compliance to SOPs or codes of conduct by IOM staff members or partners.
  11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Education  
    • Bachelors’ degree in in business administration, Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience or,
      • High School diploma with seven (7) years of relevant professional experience.   Experience
        • Strong computer skills - Word, Excel and Internet and experience with accounting systems (e.g. SAP) is advantageous
        • Experience in the field of assistance to vulnerable individuals. 
        • Experience in working with international or non-governmental organizations. 
        • Experience in project implementation, monitoring and reporting. Skills
          • High level of interpersonal communication; commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results,
          • Demonstrated ability of working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds to achieve desired goals.
          • Clearly communicates, and listens to feedback on, changing priorities and procedures
