The action contributes to the promotion of EU values and interests in the bilateral trade and economic relations with China, in line with the multi-faceted approach.
It aims to increase the protection of EU consumers against unsafe products on the EU market, through enhancing cooperation between the EU and China as well as raising awareness among Chinese stakeholders on EU product safety and consumer protection requirements.
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Senior Product Safety Expert will provide technical advice on product safety issues to contribute to policy and technical cooperation discussion. In cooperation with the Senior Training Expert, she/he will be responsible for the selection of the content of the training curricula and programme, as well as for the development of the content of training materials and tools.
Qualifications and skills
University Degree in Engineering, Economics, Technical Standardisation, Sciences, Law or any other relevant discipline related to this project Proficiency in English (oral and written) Excellent reporting and communication skills
General professional experience
Minimum 10 years of post-graduate relevant experience in a sector relevant to the scope of the assignment
Specific professional experience
Minimum 5 years of post-graduate professional experience in the area of product safety Practical knowledge of EU regulations, technical rules and non-food product safety issues related to both harmonised and non-harmonised products. Whereby practical knowledge could be demonstrated by having successfully undertaken at least 2 assignments in the above-mentioned areas over the last 5 years Having successfully undertaken at least 1 assignment in delivering training, lectures or intervening in public conferences over the last 5 years

This role is suited to a full time position that requires an 80% presence in China and 20% of home-based work.
