    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Senior Legal Operations Assistant is assigned to the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), ADB's legal department. OGC is responsible for providing legal and policy advice to ADB's Board of Directors, its Management, and client departments on operational and administrative matters and advises on methods to limit ADB's risk exposure appropriately. It prepares or reviews documents that create and define the legal rights or obligations of ADB, including financing and investment contracts.

    You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. You will report to designated International Staff(s) and senior National Staff.

    Your Role

    As a Senior Legal Operations Assistant, you will provide analytical, technical, and support coordination to OGC by performing the activities described below.

    You will:

  • Correspondence and Documentation Production (Regions or Special Practice Groups): Manage various documents such as tribunal submissions, Board papers, loan documents, and routine correspondence, and assist in preparing seminar materials like PowerPoint presentations.
  • Project Processing (Regions or Special Practice Group): Assist in drafting loan documents, monitor project processing status, request amortization schedules, and help consolidate conditions precedent documents before disbursement of private sector projects.
  • Legal Documents and Information Monitoring: Maintain an updated filing system, upload memoranda and signed loan documents into databases, monitor incoming documents, and manage counsel's schedule in shared files.
  • OGC Law, Policy, and Reform (Special Practice Group): Support LPR project administration, prepare TA Board papers, manage contract variations, assist with OGC-sponsored seminars, and maintain mailing lists for LPR publications.
  • ADB Borrowings and Swap Transactions (Special Practice Group): Compile and monitor documentation for ADB borrowings/swap transactions and assist in preparing draft documentation for the authorization and closing stages, ensuring proper filing.
  • Research: Gather legal and background materials from books, documents, the Main Library, and online sources for project and non-project matters.
  • Others: Take dictation and transcribe, handle logistical tasks like travel arrangements, assist with budget preparation, and support in preparing policy papers, briefing notes, and organizing seminars for ADB-sponsored symposia.

    Qualifications

    You will need:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with good working knowledge of ADB or similar multilateral development bank's project-related and TA operation and administration.
At least 5 years relevant experience, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience with office administration, organization, time management, and teamwork Please refer to the link for ADB Competency Framework for Administrative Staff AS5.
