The United Nations Office of Information and Communication Technology's Enterprise Solutions Service (OICT/ESS) develops and supports a wide range of enterprise solutions and provides products and services that support the work of the UN. The incumbent will be part of the Enterprise Application Centre—Asia, hosted by ESCAP and located in Bangkok, Thailand, and will report to a Senior Information Systems Officer within OICT/ESS. ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Information Systems Officer and general supervision of the Enterprise Solutions Service Chief, the incumbent will perform the following functions: • Provides support for SharePoint Online and O365 platform based systems, and applications; performs complex troubleshooting for various applications such as content management, knowledge management and case management. • Participates in the development, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of new SharePoint Online systems releases, modules and functionalities; conducts version management. • Designs and develops solutions on SharePoint Online, O365, Power platforms and Azure Services as well as other UN established standards for software and tools. • Manages, designs, creates, produces and maintains technical documentation for relevant web application systems and products; manages and administers changes to technical documentation in accordance with prevailing change management and operation procedures. • Assists in developing/refining support and operations procedures for relevant web applications systems, including programming requirements and recommendations to users for the programming interfaces. • Serves as team leader in projects dealing with the planning, specification, design, development, implementation and maintenance of SharePoint Online, O365 and Power platforms application systems; liaises with users to define and specify requirements; builds, tests and modifies prototype application systems. • Contributes to feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation and testing of web application systems improvements and new application systems. • Assists in the identification of user s needs, including business process and document workflow analysis, organization and maintenance of document repositories; identifies classification schema, retention and archival procedures; designs and develops workflow systems; conducts research on document/information/knowledge management computer applications’ tools, procedures and standards. • Provides support on web application systems development matters, including security and data backup and recovery. • Drafts correspondence and communications; including work plan revisions and other related issues, as well as prepares unit contributions for a variety of periodic reports. • Keeps abreast of developments in the field; conducts research on new technologies; performs benchmarking and proposes new acquisitions; assists in the implementation of new technologies. • Provides guidance and training to new/junior staff; plans day-to-day work and supervises other staff as required. • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. • Performs other related duties as required. EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. A first-level university degree may be accepted in lieu of two years of required experience. Job - Specific QualificationA university degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field is desirable. Work ExperienceA minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in information systems analysis, software development, and maintenance is required. A minimum of 10 years of hands-on development experience with SharePoint and SharePoint Online is required. A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience writing pipelines for Azure DevOps to deploy SPO and Power Platform applications is required. A minimum of 4 years of experience building Case Management and Knowledge Management solutions is required. A minimum of 2 years of development experience using Microsoft Graph API is required. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience using ShareGate is desirable. A minimum of 2 years of experience developing with Plumsails forms is desirable. A minimum of 1 year of experience in Machine Learning is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required. Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
