Under the overall supervision of the Head of Resources Management, and in close coordination with the Grants Programme Manager, the Finance Officer, and relevant units at the Regional Office (RO) and Headquarters (HQ), the Senior Finance and Compliance Associate will provide technical and administrative support to the Head of Resources Management in monitoring financial and compliance aspects of Implementing Partners. The role focuses on assisting with the review of financial documentation and reports, compliance checks to ensure adherence to IOM’s financial rules, regulations, and donor-specific requirements.
Education
High School Diploma with seven (7) years of relevant professional experience.
Professional certification as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be an advantage.
Experience
• Experience in finance, accounting, audit and administration in the humanitarian assistance and emergency programmes; •
• Practical experience in IOM or an intergovernmental field-based organization and administrative and financial management, budget monitoring and internal control procedures;
• Experience in performing or coordinating due diligence and risk assessments for International Organizations, and National NGOs;
• Experience in preparing clear and concise reports, supervising staff and coordinating administrative activities;
• Experience working with the Implementing Partners (IP);
• Experience in IP's capacity assessment, Budgets and Fraud mechanism control; and,
• Previous experience in the region an advantage.
Skills

Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written) and Portuguese is essential, any other Mozambiquan languages an asset.
