The Senior Driver, at the GS3 level, provides reliable and safe driving services, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, sense of responsibility. The Senior Driver also exhibits excellent knowledge of protocol while ensuring compliance with local driving rules and regulations.

The Senior Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact, and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Reliable and safe driving services for staff and officials:
Drives UNICEF staff for official purposes. As required by the administrative section, they provide support in transporting UNICEF mission colleagues, ensuring reliable and safe driving services.
- Maintenance of assigned vehicle:
Ensures the vehicle is always kept in good running condition by addressing minor repairs, arranging for major repairs, performing timely oil changes, checking tires, brakes, and water levels, and ensuring regular car washing.
- Documentation of vehicle related information:
Ensures the availability of all required documents and supplies, including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, city/country map, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle. Additionally, it keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities.
- Support in administrative tasks:
In close coordination with the Administrative Associate/G-6, provides support in activities that may be related but are not limited to the maintenance of office premises, equipment and required supplies to ensure proper operation and safety; among other administrative tasks that require support or assistance from the administrative section.

Minimum requirements:
Education: A secondary education is required, along with a valid driver’s license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. Work Experience: A minimum of three years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record is required. Languages: Fluency of the local language of the duty station is required. Basic knowledge of English is required. Willingness to learn will be considered a strong asset.Desirables:

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
