Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Risk Management Specialist is assigned to the Risk Policy and Architecture Division (RMPA) within the Office of Risk Management (ORM). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
You will report to Director, RMPA and will oversee junior team members.
Your Role
As a Risk Management Specialist, you will (i) assess country and sovereign risk from a lender's perspective; (ii) assess sovereign portfolio concentration, strength of financial systems, and systemic risk from a sovereign perspective; (iii) support the risk assessment of public and private nonsovereign borrowers by providing assessments of industry, sector and regulatory risk; and (iv) enhance the methodology and process for country and sovereign risk assessment.
You will:
a. Sovereign and Country Risk Assessment
b. Climate Change Risk Assessment
Develop and implement processes (i) to identify and assess sovereign exposure to climate change risk.; (ii) required for monitoring of and reporting on sovereign credit exposure to climate change. Oversee, and report on ADB's exposure to climate change risk in the sovereign portfolio. Support climate scenario analysis and stress tests with focus on ADB's sovereign portfolio. Contribute to internal and external reporting on climate change risks to ADB's financial standingc. Others
Conceive, develop, support, and implement processes, methods, and tools for identification, measurement, and management of risk. Maintain knowledge of new standards in risk management. Lead special projects to meet risk management requirements. Lead in organizing and conducting training. Provide leadership and support to reporting staff and ensure their ongoing learning and development.You will need:
A University degree in finance, economics, or related fields; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent. At least 6 years of relevant international experience working with country and sovereign risk analysis and related areas, in several countries, in a similar setting e.g. international financial institution, credit ratings agency, international bank, export credit agency, credit insurance provider or other similar institution. Analytical expertise including experience with analytical tools. Excellent English speaking and writing skills. Experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods for sovereign and country risk analysis, and financial sector stability analysis. Experience working in a multicultural team environment that values collaboration. Project management and execution skills, including the ability to bring complex, multifaceted matters to a conclusion in a dynamic timeframe.
