About this position

We are looking for a motivated, skilled, and independent research consultant. As research consultant, you will contribute to an academic paper studying the workplace attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ population in Latin America.

You will work in the Gender and Diversity Division (GDI) part of the Social Sector (SCL). The team mission is to promote: (a) gender equality and empowerment, (b) development with identity of indigenous peoples, and (c) the inclusion of African descendants, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals. It supports Bank operations, provides policy and strategic guidance, and carries out technical assistance and training.

What you’ll do

The main tasks are:

· Contributing to the design of the survey.

· Contributing to the coding of the survey.

· Helping with the supervision of the firm implementing the survey for the project.

· Helping to analyze the data collected through the survey.

· Contributing to drafting the research paper analyzing the results of the survey.

· Helping with the dissemination of the main findings.

What you'll need

· Education: Bachelor’s in economics, political science, sociology or other fields relevant to the role's responsibilities.

· Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in research projects and higher education, ideally with experience in survey design and implementation. Knowledge of gender and diversity issues, related to LGBTQ+ people would be preferred. Knowledge of coding in Stata is required.

· Languages: Proficiency in English. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Requirements

· Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.

· Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
