Responsibilities

The PSS delegate will support Mali Red Cross in the mainstreaming of Psychological First Aid (PFA) throughout all sectors and to enhance development of skills in MHPSS, with a specific focus on migration. S/he will support in-country DRC delegates in including MHPSS in their projects.

The PSS delegate will work closely with MRC at all levels in the development of relevant, timely and effective MHPSS interventions and will support the teams in assessing needs, planning, development, implementation, monitoring and reviews of psychosocial interventions.

S/he will receive technical support from the HQ Matrix for MHPSS, the Matrix for Migration and the Global PSS in Migration delegate in WAFR.

Experience and qualifications

You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in PS programmes and activities. Experience in the area of migration is an asset. You have a relevant educational background (Master’s in Psychology or similar) and you speak, write and read fluently in French and in English. You have experience and skills in training and you can handle stressful situations. You have good cultural understanding and the ability to work in a challenging multicultural environment.

You must be IT self-sufficient and possess a valid international driving licence.

Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement experience is an advantage, as is experience in the Sahel/West Africa context.

Employment Conditions

The duty station is Bamako. 15% time is allocated to surge/matrix which can include tasks in other countries and regions.
