Terms of Reference1. General Background
UNHCR Korea launched its Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) programme in 2009, and it has since grown markedly in both donor base and fundraising income.
As this donor base continues to expand, UNHCR Korea is placing greater emphasis on building strong, long-lasting relationships with those who support the refugee cause.
To sustain this momentum, UNHCR Korea is recruiting a staff member to assist with the donor retention and development programme, ensuring a satisfying donor experience and maximising donor lifetime value.
2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment
Under the supervision of the PSP IG Associate (Donor Retention and Development), the individual contractor will assist with the following responsibilities:
- Assist in researching, curating, and creating comprehensive donor communication content—including stories, photos, videos, and messages —for distribution across multiple channels such as email, text messages, and direct mail;
- Support the implementation of regular and annual fundraising campaigns such as appeals and impact reports for donor retention and development programmes;
- Assist in developing and executing donor journeys and related communication content plans;
- Send out donor communication materials in a timely and accurate manner according to each donor journey and segment;
- Respond promptly and professionally to donor inquiries and requests;
- Coordinate with external vendors for execution and handle related administrative tasks;
- Perform other duties as required.
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
The individual contractor will work for the UNHCR Korea Office under the direct supervision of the PSP IG Associate (Donor Retention and Development). The individual contractor will perform duty in a combination of office and flexible working environments in line with UNHCR Korea’s guidelines.
4. Qualifications and Experience
a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
- Completion of high school diploma or university degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business administration, or other related fields.
b. Work Experience
- Relevant working experience in marketing, communication, fundraising and/or Customer Relations Management (CRM) is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience with High School diploma; or 0 year of relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
c. Key Competencies
- Excellent Korean writing skills, with strength in copywriting and editing;
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills;
- Experience in fundraising, communication, and/or Customer Relations Management (CRM) is preferred;
- Fluency in Korean and English (both written and spoken)
