About this position
We are looking for a proactive and dynamic translation project manager assistant with expertise in translation project management and related technology. You will join the Translation and Documentation Section, the official translation service for the IDB Group. The Section is responsible for providing high-quality language and documentation services to support the organization’s diverse and multilingual environment.
What you’ll do
- Ensure timely processing of translation requests, determine project requirements, languages involved, volume, and deadlines, streamlining workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Assign translators, revisers, and other team members based on project needs, leveraging CAT and TMS tools and other internal materials.
- Research relevant IDB Group official documentation to be used as reference by freelancers and other team members.
- Act as the primary point of contact for freelancers, addressing questions and providing updates, update their availability regularly, and onboard new professionals added to the roster.
- Liaise with clients to address document issues and ensure the delivery of translations within the requisite deadlines.
- Process and file translations according to the Section’s standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks, such as tight deadlines, resource shortages, or technical issues, and use insights from completed projects to enhance future workflows and strategies.
- Actively participate in the implementation of new systems that improve productivity and workflow.
- Make recommendations concerning the adoption of new technologies to meet new requirements or improve the efficiency and productivity of current systems.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, social sciences, or language-related field. Localization/translation Project Management Certification required.
- Experience: At least two years of relevant experience in translation project management, monitoring workflows, prioritizing requests, and serving as point of contact with external parties. Must be familiar and comfortable using CAT tools, translation management software, standard automated office systems, databases, AI, and web technologies.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is desirable.
