IITA is seeking to recruit various nationally recruited staff positions under Soils4Liberia Project, to be based in Monrovia - Liberia. The Soils4Liberia Project is to develop a Land and Soil Information System for managing land and soil data and to generate information on the status of the land and soil resources in Liberia. The information will be disseminated to enhance knowledge on land and soil information and support stakeholders in the use of the information for their own decision-making, whether for policy development, or the planning of development action and targeting interventions for improved resource conservation, sustainable increase of productivity, or for making agriculture climate smart and for interventions in agriculture for mitigation of climate change.

The Project Administrator reports directly to the Project Manager for day-to-day operations of the Office and major work plans, and to the Head of Administration WAH in terms of policy direction. The Project Administrator is responsible for overseeing the operational and administrative functions of the office, supporting project financial management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and facilitating effective communication and coordination among stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Administration: Manage daily operational and administrative activities to ensure smooth office operations. Develop and maintain an efficient filing system and databases for both physical and electronic documents related to program activities and projects. Maintain accurate records for all administrative functions and services. Financial Management: Collaborate with the project accountant at headquarters to support the financial management of projects. Prepare, manage, and monitor the station\u2019s operating and capital budgets. Compliance and Policy Implementation: Implement and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Suggest improvements to policies and escalate them to the Head of Administration as necessary. Stakeholder Engagement: Assist the Country Representative in liaising with the host country government. Facilitate visits to project sites by donors, project coordinators, national and international partners, and other official visitors. Support Services Coordination: Liaise with relevant support service units at headquarters or regional hub offices to arrange services for the station as required. Organize local and international travel for project staff, ensuring logistical efficiency. Records and Documentation: Maintain effective records and ensure proper documentation of all project activities and administrative services.

Requirements

Required Qualifications / Experience

A post graduate degree in Project Management or MBA is highly desirable, but minimum requirement is university degree in management plus Six to Seven (6 - 7) years of experience, preferably with international organizations of a similar nature. Other relevant training and certification are an added advantage, Knowledge of the Liberian labour law will be an added advantage
