    To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet technical and capacity strengthening needs in school-based programmes.

    Support the integration of nutrition into school-based programmes:

    • Ensure that Social Behaviour Change activities support the integration of nutrition into all school feeding programs, fostering positive nutrition-related behavior changes among students and communities.

      Support the implementation of Technical Assistance Activities in School Based Programmes:

      • Provide technical and systems support for the implementation of technical assistance to the Government to enhance procurement systems and capacity within the National School Feeding Programme.
      • Ensure the procurement processes prioritize nutritious, locally sourced, and safe food, aligned with national food security and nutrition policies.

        Roll -out Stakeholder Engagement and Learning Sessions on Nutrition and WASH:

        • Partner with stakeholders to introduce and roll out learning sessions on nutrition and WASH, supporting the development of a high-quality school feeding program.
        • Ensure that training sessions address critical areas such as food safety, food quality standards, water hygiene, and nutrition education for school communities.

          Support the implementation of Capacity Building Programmes for Teachers and Parents:

          • Collaborate with partners to provide capacity-building initiatives that equip teachers and parents with skills to conduct nutritional assessments of schoolchildren.
          • Develop tailored training materials to empower educators and caregivers with knowledge about nutrition, enabling them to monitor and support children’s nutritional health effectively.
            • Support and provide oversight in the preparation, meal planning and training of school level implementers in the National School Feeding Programme.

              Review and Update of Guidelines for School Feeding Programmes:

              • Coordinate the review and revision of existing guidelines and frameworks in the National School Feeding Programme, ensuring they align with the latest standards in nutrition and food safety.
              • Assist in updating program guidelines to enhance nutrition-sensitive approaches and operational effectiveness in the National School Feeding Programme.

                Develop and Revise Operational Guidelines on Nutrition, Food Safety, and Storage:

                • Support the development and revision of comprehensive operational guidelines that address nutrition, food safety, food quality, hygiene, and storage practices.
                • Ensure that guidelines are practical, scalable, and aligned with best practices in school feeding programs.

                  Support the implementation of Compliance Mechanisms for Regional Menus:

                  • Support and coordinate the implementation of revise compliance mechanisms to ensure the adoption and monitoring of regionally diverse and culturally appropriate menus within the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.
                  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of nutritious menus based on locally sourced foods that meet the dietary needs of schoolchildren.
